Faculty Information

Course Material Adoptions: Faculty

The NDSU Bookstore begins accepting course material information in early March for summer and fall courses, and in early October for spring courses. We send out personalized link emails based on your course assignments as of those times.

The personalized link emails allow you to:

  • Submit required and non-required textbooks/eBook selections
  • Indicate no materials are needed
  • Select non-book items
  • Indicate the course has been cancelled
*Submitting your course materials can take less than 90 seconds and will help your students easily access all of their course materials in one place!

Submitting Course Materials

Using the personalized link emails, no username or password is needed to login.

Please send all required, recommended, or optional items:

Digital textbooks without interactive components. Students will access these items directly through the Bison Ready portal.

eBooks bundled with interactive digital homework items (MindTap, Connect, etc.). Students will usually access these items through publisher-provided links in your Blackboard course.

Traditional print books, including textbooks and literature. Many have eBook versions available, but only one format per book can be required.

Some publishers offer an optional low-cost looseleaf print version to sell to students as an add-on to their corresponding courseware.

o Digital interactive materials that do not include an eBook (Top Hat, Packback, Stukent, etc.)

Low-cost print books created for specific NDSU classes.

Please send information to NDSU Bookstore if using custom coursepacks. We will facilitate next steps with printing companies and handle billing.

o Free, publicly available online resources.

Can be assembled into pre-built kits (covered under Bison Ready Complete) if submitted early enough. If interested, please contact Elisabeth Bender (elisabeth.j.bender@ndsu.edu).

These items are typically not included under the Bison Ready Complete flat rate, but they should still be submitted on the course adoption if required/recommended.

Reviewing Submissions

Reviewer Workflow (for Department Coordinators)

Each department needs one coordinator to review course submissions. If you need reviewer-level access, contact ndsu.bookstore@ndsu.edu or send us a message on ndsubookstore.com.

Setting up Blackboard Course Links

Please place the Bison Ready portal (VitalSource 1.3) link in your Blackboard course each semester. Since it is a universal link, students will be able to view the requirements for all courses and make program-level participation decisions.
